Mission Statement:

To empower individuals and families in Thunder Bay by providing accessible, compassionate support for addiction recovery, housing stability, and personal growth, fostering a community built on trust, respect, and opportunity.

Vision:

To create a safe, inclusive community where everyone, regardless of background, has the resources andsupport to achieve stability, independence, and a sense of belonging. 

Key Objectives

  • Provide immediate access to detox, treatment, and mental health services.
  • Offer job training, life skills, and educational programs to promote self-sufficiency.
  • Establish a stage-based housing system (Detox, Treatment, Recovery, Transitional, Long-Term) to ensure long-term stability.
  • Foster community partnerships to enhance service delivery and resource availability.
  • Incorporate cultural and spiritual support, including Indigenous healing practices and ceremony, to promote holistic well-being.


 Organization Description Legal Structure:

     

    New Horizons Community Thunder Bay will operate as a non-profit organization, registered under Ontario's Not-for-Profit Corporations Act.

    A board of directors (5-7 members) will oversee governance, with legal consultation to ensure compliance.

    Location: 516 Victoria Ave. E., Thunder Bay, ON (double site).
